KPA EtherCAT Master is a software stack with a layered structure.

The operating systems abstraction layer (OSAL) is for adapting to various operating systems (OS).
Adaptations for RTX, INtime, QNX, VxWorks,Linux and Win CE are already available.
The provided KPA EtherCAT MasterPremium package outperforms the Standard package by additional
functions, such as Hot Connect and cable redundancy.
The RPC layer allows simultaneous remote connection of several clients such as KPA
EtherCAT Studio. The powerful API provides with a wide set of commands for writing applications effectively.

The provided Master is complied for user space of Linux 2.6.29 RT 12 (latest OSADL's stable release state January 2010). .
It is a trial version of KPA EtherCAT Master Premium which allows up to 1 hour of work in Operational mode.
Sources ensure the adaptation of OSAL to newer Linux kernels. Examples in source code are provided showing usage of:

interface to RPC Server;
network interface;
interface to synchronization and time objects (Mutexes and Timers);
control task creating a sawtooth signal at the output;
console application.
